Solar energy can be used in many ways. One of my favorite is with a solar water heater. If you want to cut down or get rid of those pesky utility bills all together you can start with solar energy.
Water heaters use a lot of fuel and power. Just think about it, why in the world would we waste fuel or electricity heating water that will not be used for several hours at a time? There is also the fact that it heats it several times over before it is used.
If you are not using solar power to heat the water then that’s just more wasted energy and that comes from your pocket in the form of bills for electricity or fuel.
Whether you like the classic styling of the water heater in the garage or closet, or the new cool looking coil version, there is a water heater to meet your needs and they come with some pretty neat gadgets too.
When I was a teen, we had two water heaters. One was gas and the other was solar powered. With two teens in the house and two working adults, even a 40 gal hot water heater didn’t quite make it.
That solar water heater system in our home was not nearly as advanced as they are now and the cost was more than 5 times what it is now to add solar.
The price has certainly come down and the advancements in solar collections have made home use solar electricity a good investment for many.
